Jillian K. Farrar
As a young page in the U.S. Senate, Jillian had a front-row seat to the legislative process. She saw firsthand how opposing parties can negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes to change lives. This inspired her to later study political science at Vassar College, and to go on to earn her law degree. Today, Jillian combines creativity and pragmatism to resolve disputes associated with bankruptcy, collections, foreclosures and creditors’ rights. She is well-versed in working with the issues facing creditors in a financially unstable economy, and her ability to communicate complex legal concepts enables clients to understand all the options available to them. From litigating non-payment of a debt to working out a beneficial repayment agreement, Jillian strives to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.
Jillian brings a high level of energy and dedication in her representation of clients’ interests, and provides a tough and resourceful ally in an uncertain economy. Jillian’s philosophy of representing clients embodies the words of Erma Bombeck: “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’” She employs all of her talents to further the interests of her clients.
Before joining Underberg & Kessler, Jillian was the bankruptcy attorney at Shapiro, DiCaro & Barak LLC. She also served as the Form and Accuracy Editor of the Syracuse Law Review.
