Tom helps individuals, businesses, professional service providers, health care providers, and municipalities with complex disputes, contract negotiations, and legal strategy. He has extensive experience in litigation, commercial contracting, and advising on high-stakes legal matters, including multi-million-dollar lawsuits involving complex construction and engineering issues, bankruptcy matters, breaches of contract, and other disputes.

Before joining Underberg & Kessler, Tom held a senior legal role with a large, global, publicly traded architecture, engineering, and consulting company, where he was responsible for managing litigation and professional liability claims, professional services agreements, and risk management. This background helps him approach legal solutions with a practical understanding of business operations, cost/benefit analysis, compliance obligations, and organizational priorities.

At a prior law firm, Tom gained valuable experience helping financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees, sureties, homeowners’ and condominium associations, and other business clients handle numerous bankruptcy and creditors’ rights and commercial litigation cases. Tom has also provided various in-house training programs on due diligence, contracts, ethics, risk management, and other topics.
