Patrick L. Cusato

For over 35 years, Pat has successfully represented clients in complex commercial and residential real estate matters across New York State. He develops strong, collegial relationships with his clients so he can best understand their unique needs and solve their toughest problems. In addition to being Co-Managing Partner, Pat is also chair of the Real Estate & Finance Practice Group and oversees the Firm’s mortgage lending team.

Pat concentrates his practice on commercial real estate, mortgage banking, and tax credit development and finance projects. He has represented for-profit and non-profit organizations, developers, retailers, commercial lenders, and mortgage brokers in a variety of real property transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, construction, development, title issues, zoning, and mortgage financing. He has represented housing development fund corporations in all aspects of affordable housing transactions, including Low Income Housing tax credits, tax-exempt bond financing, Federal Housing Act HUD-insured financing, development of assisted and independent living facilities, tax abatement, and payment in lieu of tax agreements. Pat also provides value-added counsel to financial institutions regarding banking regulations and real property law.

In addition to being a trusted advisor, Pat is equally passionate about being active in community and industry groups, as demonstrated by the numerous organizations he devotes time to. He is highly regarded in the Western New York real estate community and regularly speaks at professional and real estate seminars regarding developments in the real estate industry.
