He has negotiated a variety of large and small residential transactions, including the sale of a $4,000,000 residence for a corporate executive. Regardless of the type of sale, Jose gives each client the same level of service—listening carefully, paying attention to detail, and anticipating problems before they arise.
José is also a seasoned commercial real estate attorney, and has represented sellers, developers and property managers in the acquisition and sale of commercial and industrial property, reviewed and resolved title issues, drafted and negotiated commercial leases, and represented lenders.
Prior to joining Underberg & Kessler, José was an associate at Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP and at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP. He also worked in the Bronx District Attorney's Office, and interned in the office of former New York State Assemblyman and current United States Congressman Gregory W. Meeks. José earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and his B.S. from the State University of New York College at Brockport. He is admitted to practice in New York State, and is a member of the Monroe County and New York State Bar Associations.
José loves the outdoors and has a passion for sports, especially football and baseball. He is also actively involved in Volunteer Legal Services, where he lends his talents to pro bono clients.
